La Chiesa dei principi : le relazioni tra Reichskirche, dinastie sovrane tedesche e stati italiani (1688-1763)

La monografia indaga, con un approccio multidisciplinare e sulla base di numerose fonti archivistiche inedite, i rapporti intrecciati tra i principi vescovi della Chiesa Imperiale (Reichskirche), i casati regnanti cattolici del Sacro Romano Impero della Nazione Germanica e il sistema politico, sociale e culturale italiano dallo scoppio della Guerra della Grande Alleanza (1688) alla fine della Guerra dei Sette Anni (1763), soffermandosi, tra l’altro, sui molteplici ruoli rivestiti in tale contesto da nobili, ecclesiastici, letterati e artisti trentini.

Die Monographie erforscht, mit einem multidisziplinären Ansatz und auf der Basis zahlreicher unveröffentlichter Archivquellen, die Beziehungen zwischen den Fürstbischöfen der Reichskirche, den katholischen Herrschergeschlechtern des Heiligen Römischen Reiches der Deutschen Nation und dem politischen, sozialen und kulturellen System Italiens vom Ausbruch des Pfälzischen Erbfolgekrieges (1688) bis zum Ende des Siebenjährigen Krieges (1763), insbesondere die verschiedenen Rollen, welche Adlige, Geistliche, Gelehrte und Künstler aus dem Trentino in diesem Zusammenhang spielten.

The monograph investigates with a multidisciplinary approach, based on numerous unpublished archival sources, the interwoven relationships between the prince-bishops of the Imperial Church (Reichskirche), the Catholic ruling houses of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation and the political, social and cultural system of Italy from the outbreak of the Nine Years’ War (1688) to the end of the Seven Years War (1763). It focuses, among other things, on the multiple roles played in this context by nobles, clergymen, men of letters and artists from Trentino.
